Making Short Work Of T-Post Removal Other Tools Can’t Budge

It was really early in the life of NW Quik Pull that my father was remodeling a house he owned in Payette Idaho. In order to meet street codes, and for safety reasons, he needed to remove several T-posts out of an alley way so that cars could get through. These were 6Ft posts that were pounded 4 feet into the ground leaving only 2 feet above the ground. It looked like these posts had been in place for many, many years. They were surrounded by very hard packed dirt. I initially attempted to use a farm jack for the T-Post removal because I didn’t have NW Quik Pull with me at the time. I say attempted because when I went to use the farm jack on these posts, all I did was bend it, and then it broke, without budging the first post!

Just recently, we were asked to go demonstrate our tool at a local hobby farm. This family had only recently bought their property and they were growing their homestead. They had multiple post pulling needs, one of which were T posts.

They asked if we would walk with them out to their field where the T posts were in the cow pasture. These posts were also 6 ft posts sunk down into the ground at least 4 feet, so only 2 feet was above ground. They said they had already attempted to pull them out with their small tractor, a farm jack, and good old fashioned “Elbow Grease” and nothing worked!  They had been successful in bending one of the posts, but not removing it.
