What a difference a year makes, FENCETECH 2023 is in the books!

Back in March of this year, NW Quik Pull was exhibiting at the biggest Fence Industry Trade Show called FENCETECH in Oklahoma City OK at the Oklahoma City Convention Center.  This show is sponsored by the American Fence Association (AFA), one of the largest fence industry associations at the time.  This was the second year that NW Quik Pull was exhibiting at this show, but it was the first time we were exhibiting on our own. Last year at FENCETECH, we were guests of Shawn King with Mr. Fence Tools because he had recently begun to market and sell our tool. That relationship has continued to grow over the past year, and we really appreciate how Shawn, Mr. Fence Tools, and all his team supports our business.

FENCETECH was all about building community not fences.

Supporting each other’s businesses is one of the major themes within the Fence Industry and the American Fence Association that I have noticed over time. One of the ways this was apparent at this show was the fact that there was a Pre-show party hosted by a couple of local fence companies. Chance Whitener with Apex Fence & Construction and Robert Whittaker with Magnolia Fence & Patio teamed up to put on a gathering they called “Pickets & Pitchers”. It was basically a Meet and Greet for the vendors and contractors the night before the show started. They had a food truck, cigar roller, corn hole, drinks, and even live music! It was a great party, and all the big-name fencers were there! This event was sponsored and supported by multiple fence companies which also showed me the camaraderie that this industry has.

While the Pre-show party was fun, the real fun began for me the next day. The show floor was busy all day for 3 days with plenty of people to meet and talk with.  One of my favorite things about the show was having our customers stop by and talk with us. The guys from Glenn Fencing in Wichita Kansas told us that they don’t even remember how they pulled posts before they bought a Quik Pull. Corey Barnes with Jackson Fence Company in Tennessee said that he likes Quik Pull because it pulls the post and concrete straight up and leaves the hole for the new post. He also likes that it doesn’t strain his back!  Austin with Central Iowa Fencing told us that he believes NW Quik Pull should be an industry standard across the board!

Good FENCETECH makes good neighbors.

We also had the opportunity to chat with some of our actual neighbors. Tracey and Chris Henry own Henry’s Construction & Treasure Valley Fence LLC which is in Caldwell Idaho where my husband grew up. He has visited with them and helped them with a project which included the use of NW Quik Pull. Tracey is President of the Rocky Mountain Chapter at the AFA and she advocates for our tool within the association. We also had a visit with Ashley and Jeremy of A&J Fence in Kelso Washington who live just 30 minutes away. They purchased a second Quik Pull at the show because their business is growing, and they needed another one for the second truck they are outfitting. We delivered their new Quik Pull in person when we returned home after the show.

While the fence industry may seem small to some, it is rather large to me. I spend some time on Social Media, Facebook, Instagram, and TikTok to be specific. I am part of many fence groups on social media, and I feel like I know lots of people even though I haven’t met them. This show gave me the opportunity to meet face to face with them, introduce myself and thank them for believing in our product. Some of my dedicated customers who I was able to meet at the show besides the ones I already talked about previously include:

Cole Patterson with High Point Fence in Colorado

Josh Rand with Aloha Fence in Utah

Cannon Johnson with Jackson Fence in Tennessee

Alex Harris with Fencing Unlimited in Alabama

Shane Catton with Good Shepherd Fence Company in Indiana

Susan K Worley with Southwest Automated Securities

Dan Blanc with Fence King in Louisiana

Even The Fencing Industry Media Is Taking Notice Of NW Quik Pull

I will not fail to mention Dan Wheeler with The Fence Industry Podcast. Dan hasn’t yet bought one of our tools because he says his machines are what work for him. But Dan came by our booth on the second day of the show and did a quick interview with my husband and I for his podcast. While he was there in our booth, we watched a customer walk by with a NW Quik Pull over their shoulder which they had just purchased at the Mr. Fence Tools booth. If that isn’t proof of successful sales of NW Quik Pull, then I don’t know what is! Dan was very, very busy with interviews throughout the whole show. He was even doing an interview at the Pre-Show party. That man has tons of energy!

Speaking of Energy, that was a proper description for the Mr. Fence booth at the show. Not only did they have a booth displaying and demonstrating all of Mr. Fence Tools and talking about all the things which are offered through Mr. Fence Academy, but they also had another booth for Fence Games! This was where the Fencers could go and compete on different events like digging a hole. I really didn’t gather too many details about the games, but I knew that there were lots of competitors, and people were having loads of fun competing! This was another example of camaraderie I witnessed over the three days of the show. It was probably the loudest and most energy filled booth of the show!

FENCETECH 2023 Was So Big We Didn’t Have Time To See It All

I know there was so much more going on at this show that I was unable to see because keeping our booth attended was my priority. This was a very productive show for us because there was a lot of attendance, and the fence industry is our primary customer at this time. Our sales have grown since attending this show and we look forward to attending FENCETECH in Nashville in 2024!

In the meanwhile, if you don’t know already, Brian Frederiksen with Las Vegas Fence has started another association called Fence Workers Association (FWA). He has planned another Fence Industry Show in August 2023 called The Fence Show & Security Expo in Las Vegas. Brian is doing some really amazing things for the FWA and we are very happy to come along side and support him. I hope to see you there!

We had a great time again this year at FENCETECH.  We can’t wait to see you at the next show, until then we will keep helping people with landscaping and fencing projects!
