NW Quik Pull Is Fast And Efficient For Arborvitae Removal
A few weeks ago, a friend of the family talked to my husband about wanting to remove some Arborvitae from her yard, but wasn’t looking forward to either paying someone to take them out or the all day chore of arborvitae removal. He told her that our fence post puller, the NW Quik Pull works well on pulling out trees and shrubs. He told her that we would bring the tool over to her house, and give her and her brother some instructions on how to use it. When we arrived we saw 2 old stumps and 4 arborvitae which were about 20ft tall. My Husband demonstrated how to use the tool on the stumps first. Both my friend and her brother gave NW Quik Pull a try. Those 2 stumps were pretty easy work!
Arborvitae Removal Is Never Easy, But It Can Be Easier
We made “Quik” work of those stumps and then we moved on to the arborvitae removal, which was not quite so easy! In order to be able to get the chain around the trunk of the tree, the lower branches were cut, from the ground up leaving about 2 feet of the trunk exposed. That gave enough room to wrap the chain around the very base of the trunk, and get NW Quik Pull close to the tree also. Arborvitae removal is not quite as simple as pulling fence posts. Because of the root systems of this type of tree which go deep and wide, it is a good idea to use a breaker bar, shovel, or crowbar to dig into the roots to hold the tree up as the chain is adjusted on NW Quik Pull as shown in this picture. The Quik Pull may need to be moved a few times in order to get the best position for the best pull. This is where brother and sister worked well together to get the job done!
My friend had thought it would take her and her brother all day to dig out those 2 stumps and take down those 4 arborvitae. They were both quite pleased to have the help of NW Quik Pull. And they were done within an hour!
