Frequently Asked Questions
What type of chain is used? And is it included with my purchase?
Grade 70 logging chain size 5/16″ and 9ft in length. Yes, it is included with your purchase.
Is this tool available for rent?
Yes, there is a complete and current list of rental stores located here on the website.
Can this tool pull out stumps and or trees?
Yes, depending on the size and type. We have pulled large Arborvitaes, Grapevine, and even Bamboo. We have pulled different types of stumps up to 8 inches in diameter with success, but it depends on many factors for that success, such as soil composition and how long the stump has been dead.
What is the rated capacity of this tool?
This tool is certified by an OSHA certified company, A-1 Scales in Vancouver Washington, as having 10,000lbs of pulling pressure based on a 220lb man operating the tool. (Please see official certification)
Can it remove the concrete footing of a broken off or rotted posts?
Yes, you can dig around the top of the concrete footing and wrap the chain around the top of the concrete. In regards to a broken or rotted wooden post, a lag bolt can be used. (Please see videos on our YouTube channel for a demonstration)
How is this tool different from a Farmjack/Hi-lift jack?
NW Quik Pulls tripod feature makes it significantly more stable than the one footed farmjack, and also provides more power because of this stability. Most farmjacks only have between 4000-6000lbs of pulling power. The NW Quik Pull’s design and build materials allow it to have more than double the pulling strength of the average Farmjack.
How does the chain attach to the post?
It uses a shackle to choke whatever it wraps around. The harder you pull, the harder the chain bites into the post, stump, or concrete footing. The chain when applied properly will even bite into smooth surfaces allowing for removal of metal or vinyl posts.
Does the NW Quik Pull have a warranty?
You bet it does! Our warranty covers all manufactured defects based on proper use of the tool for up to one year from purchase.
