Bamboo Removal With the NW Quik Pull
One of our friends mentioned that they were wanting to landscape the yard of the house they recently purchased. They talked about having Bamboo around a small pond that they wanted to remove, and they were unsure of how to go about that. My husband suggested that NW Quik Pull would work on bamboo, so we were invited over to give it a try!
Bamboo Removal Is Just As Easy As Fence Post Removal
There is obviously a pretty big difference between a fence post with concrete and bamboo with large root systems! With bamboo, you gather a group of the stalks together and wrap the chain around them. Or you can use a strap to wrap around a group of stalks, and attach the Quik Pull chain to the strap. Then it is very helpful to bend the group of stalks over away from the Quik Pull so that the chain or strap does not just slide up the stalks. This bamboo removal operation really requires 2 or more people.
Fortunately, our friend’s 14 year old son was on hand to help with this task. After the stalks are pulled up to a certain degree, it may be necessary to wrap the chain or strap around a group of the roots also in order to get them removed too. If these roots are not removed successfully then the bamboo will soon grow back!
